NO HOLLYWOOD ENDING IN NEW JERSEY

Mike RuppThe New Jersey Devils got contributions from one unlikely hero and two familiar ones. The unlikely hero, Mike Rupp had the game winning goal and two assists.  Jeff Friesen again victimized his old team with two goals, his fourth and fifth of the series.  Martin Brodeur recorded his record breaking seventh shutout of the playoffs stopping all twenty-four shots that he faced.  In perhaps the only bright spot for the Anaheim Mighty Ducks, Jean-Sebastien Giguere won the Conn Smythe Trophy as the playoff MVP.
